Excelling on the London stage, O'Toole was known for his "hellraiser" lifestyle off it. Making his film debut in 1959, O'Toole achieved international recognition playing T. E. Lawrence in Lawrence of Arabia (1962) for which he received his first nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. He was nominated for this award another seven times – for playing King Henry II in both Becket (1964) and The Lion in Winter (1968), Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1969), The Ruling Class (1972), The Stunt Man (1980), My Favorite Year (1982), and Venus (2006) – and holds the record for the most Oscar nominations for acting without a win (tied with Glenn Close). In 2002, he was awarded the Academy Honorary Award for his career achievements. O'Toole was the recipient of four Golden Globe Awards, one BAFTA Award for Best British Actor and one Primetime Emmy Award. Other performances include What's New Pussycat? Mathieu Carrière (born August 2, 1950 in Hanover, Germany) is a German actor. Carrière grew up in Berlin and Lübeck; he attended the Jesuit boarding school Lycée Saint-François-Xavier in Vannes, France, a school which had previously been attended by the director of Carrière's first major film, Volker Schlöndorff. In 1969 Carrière moved to Paris to study philosophy and continue his acting. Carrière is also a director and a writer and is known to fight for the rights of fathers. His sister Mareike Carrière is also a well known actor. After playing the young Tonio at the age of 13 in Rolf Thiele's 1964 film Tonio Kröger, he played a main part in the 1966 German movie Der junge Törless (Young Törless). (Angélica María) Angie Cepeda Jiménez is an actress born on August 2, 1974 in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia). His parents are both lawyers, Yadhira Jiménez and José Cepeda. She lived in Barranquilla before moving to Bogota, where she worked as a model. In the 1990s she began participating in the soap operas "The curse of paradise", "Only a woman" and "Candela". The 1996 Angie debuted in cinema with the film by Sergio Cabrera, Ilona Arrives with the Rain. At the end of the 1990s she strengthened her broadcasting career with the recording of telenovelas such as "Luz Maria", "Las Juanas" and "Pobre Diabla". On the big screen she played one of her best roles with her character of the Colombian in the adaptation of Francisco Lombardi, Pantaleon y Las Visitadoras (2000). Kevin Patrick Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American filmmaker, actor, comedian, public speaker, comic book writer, author, and podcaster. Trained as a dancer, she devoted herself fully to an acting career following a few minor roles in silent films. Originally typecast in exotic roles, often as a vamp or a woman of Asian descent, her career prospects improved following her portrayal of Nora Charles in The Thin Man (1934). Her successful pairing with William Powell resulted in 14 films together, including five subsequent Thin Man films. Although Loy was never nominated for a competitive Academy Award, in March 1991 she was presented with an Honorary Academy Award with the inscription "In recognition of her extraordinary qualities both on screen and off, with appreciation for a lifetime's worth of indelible performances." During World War II, Loy served as assistant to the director of military and naval welfare for the Red Cross. She was later appointed a member-at-large of the U.S. Commission to UNESCO. Her acting career by no means ended in the 1940s. She continued to actively pursue stage and television appearances in addition to films in subsequent decades.
