She followed that with two seasons at New Zealand’s most outstanding and awarded drama series Outrageous Fortune, as gang-chick Aurora Bay. Under Mayer's management, MGM became the film industry's most prestigious movie studio, accumulating the largest concentration of leading writers, directors and stars in Hollywood. Mayer was one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

John Petrucci is an American guitarist and songwriter best known as a founding member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. Petrucci was named as the third player on the G3 tour six times, more than any other invited guitarists. In 2009 he was named the No. 2 best metal guitarist (behind Dave Mustaine) by Joel McIver in his book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists. A soli diciotto anni entrò nell'Accademia dei Filodrammatici del capoluogo lombardo, diplomandosi a pieni voti ed esordendo soltanto un anno dopo (1949) con la compagnia di Nino Besozzi, che mesi dopo abbandonò per quella di Antonio Gandusio. Nel 1951 ebbe un notevole successo personale con La pulce nell'orecchio di Georges Feydeau, lavorando poi in successione con Elsa Merlini, Ivo Garrani e Wanda Osiris. Oltre al teatro lavorò anche per la televisione (La coscienza di Zeno, 1966; Puccini, 1973) e il cinema interpretando nel 1966 il ruolo di Toni Gasperini in Signore & signori di Pietro Germi e nel 1973 il personaggio di Gilda in Sessomatto di Dino Risi. A capo di una propria compagnia dal 1973, alternò testi di impegno (Il piacere dell'onestà di Pirandello, Tramonto, di Simoni, Il mercante di Venezia di Shakespeare), ad altri del repertorio "leggero" (L'anatra all'arancia di Sauvajon, Il nuovo testamento di Guitry, Divorziamo! di Sardou, ecc.). Morì a 64 anni per un cancro, nella sua casa di Fregene. Al suo fianco Erika Blanc, da quindici anni compagna nella vita e sulla scena, e la figlia Gea. Dopo l'esposizione al Teatro Eliseo di Roma, i funerali si svolsero nella Chiesa degli Artisti a Piazza del Popolo. Oggi riposa nel Cimitero comunale di Campagnano di Roma.
