Gretchen Blair, agente dell'Fbi, è su un volo per Washington quando il passeggero di fianco le fa una proposta inusuale: le darà 75 milioni di dollari se sarà in grado di far atterrare al sicuro l'aereo che da lì a poco verrà dirottato. Quando una banda di ladri professionisti prende controllo del velivolo, Gretchen si rende conto che l'uomo non stava scherzando.
