Terzo lungometraggio legato alla serie. Nell'antefatto sono mostrati gli avvenimenti accaduti al momento della nascita di Inuyasha e della morte di suo padre. Oltre a Tessaiga, che ha lasciato in eredità a Inuyasha, e a Tenseiga, lasciata a Sesshomaru, il Grande Demone Cane possedeva una terza spada: So'unga, la Spada del Dominatore del Mondo. Dotata di una volontà propria, pericolosa e molto difficile da gestire So'unga era stata sigillata e gettata nel pozzo Mangia-Ossa al momento della morte del suo possessore. Ma il sigillo non è eterno e la spada, ora libera, può essere fermata solo da un’azione congiunta di Tessaiga e Tenseiga.
