Nastassia was born in Toronto, Ontario. She's the daughter of filmmaker Andrzej Markiewicz (Dreams Beyond Memory). She began acting at a young age in her father's projects. Aside from being an actress, Nastassia dabbles in all kinds of art forms, including: drawing, painting, writing, music, clothing design and artistic makeup. She studied Fashion Design at George Brown College in Toronto and is a certified Makeup Artist.

Van Dyke began as a songwriter and recording artist for Wheelsville Records in Detroit, Michigan. In 1960, Van Dyke entered and won the “Miss Teen USA” contest (sponsored by Teen magazine and apparently unrelated to the current Miss Teen USA pageant). She was signed to Motown Records in 1961, making her one of the first white recording artists for the label. She appeared in the 70s in Framed with Joe Don Baker playing a country lounge singer.
