Alan Ladd
Born: set 03, 1913
Hot Springs, Arkansas USA
Date of death: gen 29, 1964 (50)
Alan Walbridge Ladd was an American actor and film and television producer. Ladd found success in film the 1940s and early 1950s, particularly in Westerns and film noirs where he was often paired with Veronica Lake, as she was one of the few Hollywood actresses shorter than he. His popularity diminished in the late 1950s, though he continued to appear in popular films until his death from cerebral edema in January 1964. Ladd was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but later relocated to North Hollywood, California when his mother re-married.   He worked briefly as a studio carpenter (as did his stepfather) and for a short time was part of the Universal Pictures studio school for actors.  Intent on acting, he found work in small theatres. He had short term stints at MGM and RKO, and eventually started getting steady work on radio.  Ladd began by appearing in dozens of films in small roles, including Citizen Kane , before reaching recognition for his 1942 appearance in This Gun for Hire, invigorating Hollywood's desire for gangster-crime features.  His cool, unsmiling persona proved popular with wartime audiences, and he was quickly established as one of the top box office stars of the decade.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Born: set 03, 1953
Roanne, Loire, France
Age: 71
Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a French film director and screenwriter known for the films Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, Alien: Resurrection and Amélie. Jean-Pierre Jeunet was born in Roanne, Loire, France. He bought his first camera at the age of 17 and made short films while studying animation at Cinémation Studios. He befriended Marc Caro, a designer and comic book artist who became his longtime collaborator and co-director. They met at an animation festival in Annecy in 1974. Together, Jeunet and Caro directed award-winning animations. Their first live action film was The Bunker of the Last Gunshots (1981), a short film about soldiers in a bleak futuristic world. Jeunet also directed numerous advertisements and music videos, such as Jean Michel Jarre's Zoolook (together with Caro). Jeunet's films often resonate with the late twentieth century French film movement, cinéma du look, and allude to themes and aesthetics involving German expressionism, French poetic realism, and the French New Wave. Jeunet and Caro's first feature film was Delicatessen (1991), a melancholy comedy set in a famine-plagued post-apocalyptic world, in which an apartment building above a delicatessen is ruled by a butcher who kills people in order to feed his tenants. They next made The City of Lost Children (1995), a dark, multi-layered fantasy film about a mad scientist who steals children's dreams so that he can live indefinitely.[3] The success of The City of Lost Children led to an invitation to direct the fourth film in the Alien series, Alien: Resurrection (1997). This is where Jeunet and Caro ended up going their separate ways as Jeunet believed this to be an amazing opportunity and Caro was not interested in a film that lacked creative control working on a big-budget Hollywood movie. Caro ended up assisting for a few weeks, with costumes and set design but afterwards, decided to work on a solo career in illustration and computer graphics. Jeunet directed Amélie (2001), starring Audrey Tautou. Amélie is the story of a woman who takes pleasure in doing good deeds but has trouble finding love herself, was a huge critical and commercial success worldwide and was nominated for several Academy Awards. For this film, Jeunet also gained a European Film Award for Best Director. Jeunet has also directed numerous commercials including a 2'25" film for Chanel N° 5 featuring his frequent collaborator Audrey Tautou. Born: set 03, 2001
Istanbul
Age: 23
He started his film career at the age of 8. He has appeared in theatre, film, and television. Few young actors have the career and experience that Denizhan has. He played at the Dortmund Theater, and that was his best performance. From the crowd, he received a perfect score. He played in this particular theatrical play for the first time as a child actor. He was in Bahman Ghobadi's last film The Four Walls (2021). Roger Waters was The Four Walls (2021)'s producer. Akbaba began attracting the attention of directors, who cast him in small roles in a number of television series, such as Içerde (2016) and The Magnificent Century (2011). He gained a lot of attention with the character with autism in the series A Miracle (2019), in which he played. His performance in Girl with No Mouth (2019) brought him "7. Golden Sycamore Special Jury" award alongside with many other awards from other organizations. Growing up in and around the entertainment world it was not long before Denizhan's talent was spotted and he was encouraged to try acting professionally. In 2018, Denizhan scored lead feature film role in the coming of age story Girl with No Mouth (2019). Denizhan was also not one of the first names that were considered for this movie. His performance during the subsequent auditions helped him land the part. Additionally, he claimed that playing a character without eyes is intriguing. Not long after, he scored the role as Selim on the critically acclaimed 2019 FOX drama, A Miracle (2019). He did a great job portraying a sick autistic child. The character of the autistic boy, who was much discussed at the time, was something Denizhan worked on with the acting coach. Everyone on set was in awe of him. The producers admired him. Being an autistic persona and acting out crisis situations, he said, was quite exhausting. He made two other movies in the meantime, Ela with Hilmi and Ali and The Four Walls (unreleased). His first medium-length movie, which he co-wrote and directed with his twin, Emirhan Akbaba, was released in 2020. Denizhan played a character in the "Naked" TV series who can see and communicate with people trapped in purgatory. Denizhan was featured in Last Summer (2021), a Netflix film. In 2022, he burst back into screens throughout the world with guest starring role in Who Were We Running From? (2023), a Netflix TV Series. As someone who has gone from small roles in television shows to one of the most respected actors in Turkey, Denizhan has had one of the most diverse careers in cinema. He broke out in Ela with Hilmi and Ali (2022) leading role as Ali, the doorman's son, who flunked for the second time at school. Carmelo Bene
Born: set 03, 1937
Campi Salentina, Lecce, I
Date of death: mar 16, 2002 (64)
The filmmaking career of Carmelo Bene (1937 - 2002) lasted from 1968 to 1973, six years out of a lengthy time spent in the theater that made Bene one of the most celebrated figures of the Italian avant-garde in the second half of the 20th century. Bene first made a name for himself with a controversial production of Camus’ Caligula in Rome in 1959. Subsequent productions retained this sense of notoriety, and Bene (like Pasolini) quickly acquired a police record. Bene, however, would come to bemoan the controversy his work created, because it attracted an audience looking for shocks and titillation, while he himself was more concerned with reinventing the vocabulary of the theater: sets, gestures, texts. Bene’s turn to cinema expanded that quest to reinvent. His films resist synopsis because, although they are often derived from narrative sources, Bene uses these sources against themselves and as a springboard for his critique of the stultifying traps of representation and interpretation. The films are wildly inventive and visually arresting on several levels: the performance styles of his actors, including eccentric movements, gestures and grimaces; the sets, costumes and makeup; the editing; and the use of the camera, with stable shots regularly punctuated by handheld camera work, extreme close ups and the occasional baroque use of zooms, dollies, cranes, elaborate pans and exaggerated camera angles. They resemble something like the work of Jack Smith crossed with the experimental Pasolini of Teorema and Pigsty. One constant feature of Bene’s work is its satire of heterosexuality. The two sexes keep trying to communicate with each other, but always fail to do so. Bene’s work constantly deflates masculinist pretenses at mastery: his male characters tend to be hapless and often hysterical, while his female characters are alternately predatory and remote, and unknowable in either case. But this satire is merely the most visible form of Bene’s revolt against convention and communication. Over and over again in the films, everyday actions become hopelessly complicated or endlessly interrupted. His characters often end up staring quizzically offscreen or even into mirrors, as if they were no more sure than we are of the meaning of what they see. Indeed, identity and by extension agency seem to get suspended, along with meaning. What is left is glorious spectacle and enigmas for the eyes and ears: endless music; babbling, stuttering text; excessive and exciting images. – David Pendleton
