Peggy Lee was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer and actress, in a career spanning six decades. From her beginning as a vocalist on local radio to singing with Benny Goodman's big band, she forged a sophisticated persona, evolving into a multi-faceted artist and performer. She wrote music for films, acted, and created conceptual record albums—encompassing poetry, jazz, chamber pop, and art songs. In 1952 Lee starred in The Jazz Singer, a Technicolor remake of the early Al Jolson part-talkie 1927 film of the same name. In 1955, she played an alcoholic blues singer in Pete Kelly's Blues, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 1955 Lee did the speaking and singing voices for several characters in Disney's Lady and the Tramp: she played the human "Darling", the dog "Peg", and the two Siamese cats "Si and Am". In 1957, Lee guest starred on the short-lived ABC variety program, The Guy Mitchell Show.

Christy acted with Will Rogers, Buster Keaton and the Marx Brothers, and with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in the film Sons of the Desert (1933), in the role of Mrs. Laurel. She was Queen Tika of Murania in The Phantom Empire, Gene Autry’s 1935 cliffhanger serial. She concluded her cinema career in 1953. Dorothy Christy died of natural causes five days shy of her seventy-first birthday.

Allo stesso modo, scese anche le scale della Maison de la Radio seguendo la scommessa. Nel 1947 offrì al burbero Saint-Granier una ski-bike che gli permetteva di scendere in pista. Amico di Roger Frison-Roche, lo ritroviamo nei titoli di coda di Premier de Cordée (1944). Nel 1955, con Gaston Rebuffat e Georges Terraz, dirige Stelle e tempeste, che vince il Gran Premio al Festival di Trente. Il 13 luglio 1956, insieme a Gaston Rebuffat, effettua la prima salita della parete sud-est dell'Aiguille du Midi a Chamonix, di cui si possono vedere frammenti in Entre terre et ciel. Fu anche amico di Robert Doisneau, che gli scattò molte fotografie6 e con il quale realizzò un'opera intitolata "Ballade for violoncello e camera oscura", a testimonianza della loro amicizia. Morì all'età di 94 anni ed è sepolto nel cimitero di Beauregard (Ain), Francia.
