From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Norman Panama (April 21, 1914 – January 13, 2003) was an American screenwriter and film director born in Chicago, Illinois. He collaborated with a former school friend, Melvin Frank, to form a writing partnership which endured for three decades. He also wrote gags for comedians such as Bob Hope's radio program and for Groucho Marx. The most famous films Panama directed were Li'l Abner (1959), the Danny Kaye film The Court Jester (1956), and Bob Hope's How to Commit Marriage (1969). He wrote Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), Road to Utopia (1946), and The Court Jester, among other movies. He won an Edgar Award for A Talent for Murder (1981), a play he co-wrote with Jerome Chodorov. Panama continued to write and direct through the 1980s. He died in 2003 in Los Angeles, California from complications due to Parkinson's disease. Katherine Elizabeth Vernon (born April 21, 1961) is a Canadian-born American actress. She is known for her roles as Lorraine Prescott on the CBS primetime soap opera Falcon Crest (from 1984–1985), the stuck-up and popular Benny Hanson in the comedy film Pretty in Pink (1986), Sophia in the 1992 Spike Lee film, Malcolm X, and Ellen Tigh in the 2004 Syfy series Battlestar Galactica.

Patti Ann LuPone (born April 21, 1949) is an American actress and singer, who is best known for her work in stage musicals. She has won two Grammy Awards, two Tony Awards, and two Olivier Awards. She is also a 2006 American Theater Hall of Fame inductee. On television, LuPone played Lady Bird Johnson in the 1987 TV movie, LBJ: The Early Years, starred in the drama series Life Goes On (1989–1993) and received Emmy Award nominations for the TV movie The Song Spinner (1995) and her guest role in the sitcom Frasier (1998). In the 1990s she had a recurring role as defense attorney Ruth Miller on Law & Order. She also had recurring roles in two Ryan Murphy FX series, the thriller American Horror Story: Coven (2013–2014) and the drama Pose (2019), as well as on Murphy's Hollywood on Netflix. She guest starred in Penny Dreadful (2014–2016) before returning in a lead role. She voices the character Yellow Diamond in the animated series Steven Universe (2013–2019) and its epilogue series Steven Universe Future (2019–2020). She also appeared on The CW comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Rabbi Shari (2017). LuPone appeared in the Oscar-winning films Witness (1985) and Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and also was featured in State and Main (2000), Parker (2013), and The Comedian (2016). LuPone has a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and she is famous for her strong/high "Broadway" belt singing voice. In a 2008 interview, she maintained that she was "an actor who sings", and thankful she "had a voice"

George Ralph DiCenzo (April 21, 1940 – August 9, 2010) was an American actor, and one-time associate producer for Dark Shadows. He was in the show business for over 30 years, with extensive film, TV, stage, and commercial credits. DiCenzo notably played Marty's grandfather Sam Baines in the film Back to the Future. He also had a minor role in William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist III. DiCenzo died on August 9, 2010, as a result of sepsis.

Reni Santoni (April 21, 1939 – August 1, 2020) was an American film, television and voice actor. Santoni was born in New York City of French and Spanish descent. He began his career in off-Broadway theatre. His first significant film role was an uncredited appearance in the 1964 film The Pawnbroker, starring Rod Steiger, in which he played a junkie trying to sell a radio to the title character, using anti-Semitic slurs that have absolutely no effect. Santoni's first leading role was as the young actor in Carl Reiner's Enter Laughing. His other well-known film roles include Inspector "Chico" González in the 1971 classic Dirty Harry, as Ramon Herrera in the 1983 hit drama Bad Boys, and as detective Tony Gonzales in 1986 action film Cobra. Around that time, he also made guest appearances on television shows such as Barnaby Jones, Lou Grant, Hawaii Five-O, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues and Midnight Caller. In 1973, he was a junior partner on, "Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law". (Santoni and "Owen Marshall" co-star Lee Majors were born the same week in April 1939). Other acclaimed works include Trouble Every Day (2001), 35 Shots of Rum (2008), White Material (2009), High Life (2018) and Both Sides of the Blade (2022), the last of which won her the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival. For her film Stars at Noon (2022), Denis competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. She won the Grand Prix, sharing the award with Lukas Dhont's film Close.
