From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Norman Panama (April 21, 1914 – January 13, 2003) was an American screenwriter and film director born in Chicago, Illinois. He collaborated with a former school friend, Melvin Frank, to form a writing partnership which endured for three decades. He also wrote gags for comedians such as Bob Hope's radio program and for Groucho Marx. The most famous films Panama directed were Li'l Abner (1959), the Danny Kaye film The Court Jester (1956), and Bob Hope's How to Commit Marriage (1969). He wrote Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), Road to Utopia (1946), and The Court Jester, among other movies. He won an Edgar Award for A Talent for Murder (1981), a play he co-wrote with Jerome Chodorov. Panama continued to write and direct through the 1980s. He died in 2003 in Los Angeles, California from complications due to Parkinson's disease. She also appeared on The CW comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Rabbi Shari (2017). LuPone appeared in the Oscar-winning films Witness (1985) and Driving Miss Daisy (1989) and also was featured in State and Main (2000), Parker (2013), and The Comedian (2016). LuPone has a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and she is famous for her strong/high "Broadway" belt singing voice. He was in the show business for over 30 years, with extensive film, TV, stage, and commercial credits. DiCenzo notably played Marty's grandfather Sam Baines in the film Back to the Future. Reni Santoni (April 21, 1939 – August 1, 2020) was an American film, television and voice actor. Santoni was born in New York City of French and Spanish descent. He began his career in off-Broadway theatre. His first significant film role was an uncredited appearance in the 1964 film The Pawnbroker, starring Rod Steiger, in which he played a junkie trying to sell a radio to the title character, using anti-Semitic slurs that have absolutely no effect. Santoni's first leading role was as the young actor in Carl Reiner's Enter Laughing. His other well-known film roles include Inspector "Chico" González in the 1971 classic Dirty Harry, as Ramon Herrera in the 1983 hit drama Bad Boys, and as detective Tony Gonzales in 1986 action film Cobra. Around that time, he also made guest appearances on television shows such as Barnaby Jones, Lou Grant, Hawaii Five-O, Hardcastle and McCormick, Hill Street Blues and Midnight Caller. In 1973, he was a junior partner on, "Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law". (Santoni and "Owen Marshall" co-star Lee Majors were born the same week in April 1939). Santoni continued to work in film and television through to the 21st century. Some of his more memorable characterizations include "Poppie," the unhygienic restaurateur on TV's Seinfeld, and "Captain Carlos Rodríguez" in Carl Reiner's comedy film Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.
